Welcome to The Editor's Wastebasket - a site dedicated to tabletop RPGs and a broad range of systems. I started this site when I was a prolific player of Palladium Books' games, the Rifts RPG in particular. Post-college, I played a mix of Palladium games and Dungeons & Dragons, Revised 3rd Edition (aka D&D 3.5). After that, things became a bit murky as I sought other systems and, in some cases, write some of my own titles (you should check out Apokalyptic Publishing if you're so inclined).

A Forever GM, I have been running all things Savage Worlds since 2008, with my gateway drug being 50 Fathoms (because who doesn't enjoy a great pirate-themed roleplaying game?). Since then, I've also played and run games using TinyD6 (Gallant Knight Games), AGE System (Green Ronin Games), and now spend my game planning time either running some of my favorite old settings using a new system (such as Dragonstar for D&D 3.5, but run using Savage Worlds: Adventure Edition and the updated Fantasy Companion) or cobbling together epic high fantasy adventures in my own setting (coming "soon" from Apokalyptic Publishing).

If you like what I'm doing here, you can buy me a coffee to support my efforts!

The Peacekeepers

The Peacekeepers are a war-like race of humanoids of a small empire in the Anvil Galaxy. Their homeworld of Ceirus Prime (pronounced Kay-rus) has been mastered (in order and in self-sufficiency). Unfortunately, the Peacekeepers would not be satisfied with mastery of their world. They soon…

Sins of the Father

Hook: For the past ten days, grisly murders have been taking place in the small town of Garrets Hill. Each night one of the townspeople has been electrocuted. The characters may be related to one of the victims, or called in by local police for their skills (if the character is a noted doctor or…

It all starts in MercTown with a pair of new arrivals. These two are fugitives from the Coalition State of Lonestar and have a retrieval squad hot on their tail. After laying low for a time in MercTown, they begin to venture out and explore job opportunities. While it's unsavory to have to work…

Adventures

Welcome to Barketsville

Hook: The characters have just arrived in a small town with no know history of the occult and paranormal. Perhaps they are researching a local legend, following up information on a rare text, or simply wander into the city by accident. In any event, the group will be forced to spend some time in…

Adventures

History Repeats

This plot is a bit unpleasant and has no happy ending to it. I would suggest it be used only in the "darker theme" type of games. It is mostly a morality play, who will the players help, the "innocent" man or the teen with no control over his actions. Hook: The characters will be somehow drawn to…

Adventures

Too Good to Be True

Hook: The players will be in a major city, hunting down a master vampire and his minions when they discover someone else seems to be helping them out. In some cases, the characters will arrive only minutes after a pitched battle to discover the remains of scores of vampires. Whoever the mystery…

Anthony Jackson (Jax)

Chaos. The one true force. Well, at least in my life. I grew up with a hard life. The neighborhood was bad. Real bad. My parents, well, as long as they lived anyway, were drug addicts. Bastards. Luckily, life wasn't so hard for my mom before she had me, so I didn't come out with a bunch of fuckin'…

A World Torn Asunder (Part 2)

This is part two of my article regarding what, I believe, the outcome of the major conflicts on Rifts Earth will be. This second part covers most of the Eastern Hemisphere (Africa and Australia will be covered, hopefully, in Part Three). I will, hopefully, give some information regarding the…

A World Torn Asunder (Part 1)

A while ago, I got into a debate about the many fronts the Coalition faces, how this might affect them, and the possibilities of who might win. It also turned out to be a great discussion about the factors that could affect the outcome of every war the Coalition States has entered in to, mostly…

A Day at the Mall

This campaign is something that could be run in Beyond the Supernatural or Nightbane (though it would probably be suited to take place on or before Dark Day). The characters should already know each other by now, if not, it could certainly be an interesting introduction. The players are on their…

Neklor Darkblade

Neklor was born into slavery. He didn't have a choice, not even a fighting chance. He was simply raised that way. Neklor, however, wasn't like the other ogre slaves. Yes, he was still forced to do manual, hard labor, but he showed more intelligence than most of his brethren. Perhaps that is why,…
