Ring of Fire

When you choose the lesser of two evils, always remember that it is still an evil.
-- Max Lerner

Ring of Fire is my most recent campaign. It is based in the Heroes 2055 setting and involves three players (the fourth was forced to recently drop out). This is their story.

The Characters

All characters are members of the NCIA Counter-terrorism division. All are members of the Metahuman unit and operate as a cohesive team (at least most of the time).

Girard (Experiment; team leader; electronics and computer expert): Secretly sponsored by the military, Girard was created in a deliberate attempt to create a super-soldier that resulted in a slightly different end. He has served the NAF and law enforcement all his life. His current goals are to explore his powers and defend innocents.

Kaneda (Psychic; Forensic specialist): Natural psychic with a history of law enforcement, first with the NYPD, then the NCIA. He has a number of shady contacts in New York City which he uses to help in his fight against the Humanitarian Brotherhood.

Goliath (Experiment; Electronics specialist): A low-baller in Tulsa, Goliath was in a car accident which put him in a coma for a year. Assuming he would never awaken, he was taken from his parents by the NAF military for experimentation. He has only recently found his sister in Seattle (apparently in over her head). He has yet to contact his parents feeling shamed. For now he is content working with the NCIA, doing something beyond what most other lowballers achieve.

Alexander Yu (Yr; Alien; Reassigned): A stranded alien, Yr joined the NCIA to help his search for a way off the planet. His nature has remained a secret due to his shapeshifting ability. His ship remains hidden, though he was apparently discovered and officially "reassigned." His current location is unknown. GM Note: This player may or may not return. He lives about an hour away and had hoped to make it to the game each week, but it appears Fate had other plans.

Note: I developed this campaign plot last summer while I had a break from classes. It was developed prior to the September 11th attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. Please understand that this is only a creative work and in no way is meant to demean what happened New York and Washington.
